Bereavement Follow-Up Program

To grieve a loss, whatever it may be, does not happen overnight — especially when it comes suddenly or unexpectedly, as is sometimes the case with patients admitted to our hospital. The GSC, in collaboration with the St. Mary's Medical Center Chaplaincy Services Department, follows up with each family who has had a family member die at St. Mary’s Medical Center (except within the Hospice Program, which has its own bereavement follow up). We provide this service for one year to families, free-of-charge, as a way to make them aware of the programs and services we offer and to let them know they are not alone.
