Pediatric Therapy

If you have a child who needs therapy or skilled nursing services, St. Mary’s Home Health could be your answer.

Home therapy can be a particularly good option for children. Traveling can be especially hard on children, and many children resist doing therapy in an unfamiliar place. The home setting allows our therapists to see how your child functions in comfortable surroundings and to develop programs most fitting to that environment.

We know it takes special people to be able to work effectively with children so we have a dedicated pediatric team.

Our team offers skilled pediatric and infant nursing services, including:

  • Synagis injections
  • Weight and nutrition monitoring
  • Disease management
  • Pediatric infusions and blood draws

Our pediatric therapists work in all therapy disciplines: Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy. Our pediatric therapists are experts in a wide range of issues related to children, including:

  • Developmental testing to determine how your child is progressing in terms of large or fine motor skills or communication skills
  • Therapy for infants coming out of intensive care
  • Oral motor, feeding and swallowing therapy for infants and children
  • Equipment assessment, fitting, and training for pediatric strollers, lifts, wheel chairs, standers and more
  • Physical strengthening and therapy, including neurodevelopmental treatment, myofascial release and joint mobilization for children of all ages
  • Sensory integration therapy for children with sensory processing deficits
  • Splinting and orthotics
  • Speech therapy for children with language disorders
  • Infants with torticollis
  • Children with cochlear implants
  • Home program training for family and care providers

The services potentially available for your child include many that are available for our other home health patients, such as Nursing care, Home Health Aides and Social Worker services.
