Physical Therapy

"Physical therapy was so helpful that I could get into and out of bed by myself. Also showering was ten times easier. My therapist really made life a lot easier for us all.”

Whether you need therapy to build strength after surgery or injury, or you need help maintaining your strength and independence as you age, or you have a child who needs help learning how to move (see pediatric therapy), our Physical Therapists can help.

Our goal is to help you acquire the physical skills, strength, know-how and equipment you or your loved one need to live safely at home with a great quality of life. For instance, our Physical Therapists can:

  • Help you learn exercises that strengthen your muscles and bones after surgery or injury;
  • Help you learn to walk better and improve your balance;
  • Train your family members or care providers how to safely assist you;
  • Assess your home safety and equipment needs for instance, if you are considering the appropriateness of a lift, a manual or power wheelchair, a standing frame, or a scooter;
  • Perform a range of state-of-the-art techniques like myofascial release, cranial sacral therapy, electrical stimulation therapy, moist heat therapy, and more.

Often, our Physical Therapists work collaboratively with our Occupational Therapists to consider safety and equipment needs.
