Respect and Safety
Home is a wonderful place to heal and regain strength and independence. But we understand it can also be hard to bring outsiders into your home, especially at times when you may not feel your best. You might worry about your personal safety, or that of a loved one. Or you may worry about having someone in your private space who may not fully respect that this is your home.
When you need help, you should not have to worry about such basic issues as safety and respect. So we go to great lengths to ensure that anyone we send to your home will be a respectful, safe and helpful guest in your home:
Longevity. St. Mary’s Home Health has an extraordinary record of staff longevity. Our home-visit professionals have been trusted employees of St. Mary’s Medical Center for years
— often for a decade or more. We find that our professionals stay with us because they love what they do.
Respectful philosophy. Our goal is to try to fit into your life and work with you to enhance the quality of your life. We also pace ourselves. Therapy can be hard work, but we do not try to tackle too many challenges at once. We attempt to work around your schedule and that of your family’s.
Credentials and background checks. Each of our home health professionals has both a Minnesota and a Wisconsin license in his or her field
— as a Home Health Aide, Nurse, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist or Social Worker. All staff have also had background checks and are bonded and insured.
Ongoing case conferencing and training. Our staff receives ongoing training and also meets regularly to review cases. This allows us to continually reinforce our philosophy and to brainstorm the best approach for each of our clients.
