Congratulations! The birth of a new baby is one of life's most personal, joyous and highly anticipated events. The memories of it will last forever.

Of the many decisions to be made during the nine months of pregnancy, one of the most important is choosing where you will have your child. St. Mary's Birthplace offers everything you will need:

The best part is the attention you'll receive from your caregivers at the Birthplace. We're truly dedicated to giving your child a warm and welcoming beginning, and are honored to be part of it.

Care built around your needs

We recognize that each pregnancy is unique and that each mother approaches childbirth in her own way. We're happy to accommodate you whatever your wishes and needs. We offer a wide variety of labor and delivery options including natural childbirth support, cesarean births, and pain relief options like epidural anesthesia.

At St. Mary's Birthplace, it's all about your birthing preferences and the health needs of you and your child.

Support from all sides

Our nurturing, family-friendly atmosphere is backed by outstanding medical care:

  • To ensure the safety of both mother and child, a board-certified Obstetrician is on the Birthplace floor 24 hours a day/seven days a week
  • The majority of our nurses have 20-plus years of experience and have assisted in thousands of births
  • A triage unit ensures that expectant mothers are assessed quickly and receive appropriate care in a timely manner
  • Our Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit the only one north of the Twin Cities lets families rest easy knowing that both mother and child will receive immediate care should a complication arise.
