Meet Our Team

Our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is staffed by three Pediatric Intensivists — specialists in treating critically ill children — and highly trained critical care nurses. Many of our staff members have been here for 15 years or more, and they stay because they consider it a privilege to work with kids. Years of experience have taught us how to help children and parents cope with difficult situations.

Our Pediatric Intensivists are available 24/7

They have a reputation with families for being responsive, compassionate and patient, always taking the time to communicate with families regarding the care of their children. We also have extensive support from many Duluth Clinic medical specialists and sub-specialists. Together this team provides the most comprehensive and skilled pediatric care in the region.

Expert nursing staff

Our staff of registered nurses cares for children in both the Pediatric Unit and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, making it easier for children who are transitioning between areas. Our nurses receive extensive training before working in pediatrics, including courses in Pediatric Advanced Life Support that teach the fundamentals of pediatric emergency care.
