Emergency Services
When you visit the Emergency Room, your only goal is to feel better quickly. That’s our goal too. Whether you’re sick or injured, whether it’s minor or serious, we will take care of you. In fact, that’s our highest priority. In the St. Mary's Emergency Room, you will get the medical attention you need from doctors and nurses experienced in emergency room medicine.
Expert ER doctors. Our 15 ER doctors are board certified in various specialties, and many are board certified in Emergency Medicine. They know how to handle any medical emergency.
Access to experts throughout our health system. When you walk in the ER doors, you have the expertise of the entire clinic and hospital at your service. That means access to expert Trauma, Cardiac, Pediatric, and Neurology care — along with many others — from the specialists at the Duluth Clinic. We work closely with St. Mary's Duluth Clinic Heart Center, for example, to fast-track heart patients to the best treatment options. Whatever you need, it’s right here.
24/7 Level II Trauma Center. What if your injury is life threatening? Our Level II Trauma Center team is here 24 hours a day. No other hospital in the region has board-certified Trauma Surgeons on staff — let alone five of them — which means you get the absolute best care at a most critical time in your life. Should you need it, we also have the region’s only Burn Center. You may even need the services of LifeFlight — our helicopter that picks up critically injured or ill patients from all over the Northland.
