Teamwork in St. Mary's Emergency Services
We’ve put together a terrific team of professionals who respond like a single unit in an emergency. Each person on our Emergency Services staff has a key role to play.
Here’s how they all work together during situations that can be some of the most extreme that life offers.
When an ambulance or medical helicopter picks up a patient, our Emergency Medicine doctors and nurses are ready and waiting. Using their years of experience, our doctors rapidly evaluate and stabilize each patient who arrives in the Emergency Department at St. Mary's Medical Center. If necessary, a patient is admitted directly to the Trauma Center, where trauma surgeons immediately go to work. Other Duluth Clinic specialists, such as Orthopedic Surgeons and Neurosurgeons, are also available when needed. A dedicated team of trauma nurses care for patients who are transferred to our Neuro and Trauma Intensive Care Units.
